Shabab Al Ahli keeps Pointer for another season

Defending champion Shabab Al Ahli Dubai (ULB) re-signed 32-year old USA ex-international 198cm swingman Sir'Dominic Pointer (college: St.John's) for upcoming season. He played there last season. He also played for Al-Manama in Bahrain league earlier that season where in 14 West Asia Super League games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.6ppg, 8.6rpg, 4.9apg, 1.7spg and 2.1bpg. Pointer helped them to make it to the group final. Great season indeed as he was voted to Asiabasket.com All-West Asia Super League Final 8 Second Team.
In 2015 he was drafted by Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) in second round (53rd overall). He graduated from St. John's University and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball. Pointer was a member of USA Senior National Team in 2020.
He is a very experienced player. Pointer has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eleven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Bahrain, Cyprus (APOEL Nicosia), Greece (Panionios), Hungary (Alba), Israel (Hapoel Eilat), Lebanon (Byblos), Taiwan (Dreamers), Venezuela (Trotamundos), NBA G League (Cleveland Charge), Czech Republic (Brno) and The Basketball Tournament (Choice). His team won Bahrain League Regular Season in 2024.
Among many awards he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Defensive Player of the Year in 2022.
